Words cannot describe the feelings of revulsion, anger and sheer disgust that I felt when I read this story of how 2 women doctors forced a 15 year old rape victim to give birth to a baby, and then killed it by letting it starve for 3 days. It is the kind of stomach-churning story that makes me, a strong opponent of capital punishment, want to bring back the days of public stoning and lynching. And to think that these are doctors, sworn to the Hippocratic oath, supposedly the most noble of people. And women on top of that.
What I find most disturbing is that this kind of crime happens enough that there is actually a section for “forcible delivery of a child with intent to kill” in the criminal code. India may be rising, but until this callous atttitude towards life and women is obliterated, it will never reach the standing it should.

politicians of the world have helped these types of crimes to be carried out with impunity for their own petty gains. Women had chattel status then and now it is only slightly better. When society says that a woman deserved to be raped because she was wearing clothes that invited this behavior and the men are absolved of their guilt and the woman shamed day in day out this would happen. The family and even police forces doctors to do such heinous crimes like female foeticide. I wonder if the baby was a girl. If it had been a boy it would have been given for silent adoption. If you feel that it was a bad thing change the hearts and minds of your male friends so that a male is superior to female attitude changes and a woman everywhere gets respect she deserves as an equal. Did you know a muslim female is punished as a whore for being raped because she cannot produce two male witnesses who will give witness that she was forcibly raped? Money and male power is the ultimate judge
